Addressing training needs for voluntary private and charity providers

Posted on: 04 October 2007

The Health and Social Care Sector Skills Alliance has been able to engage with a variety of organisations responsible for the delivery of health and social care across the region, however these remain predominantly Trust based and do not account for the organisations that provide their services using a different delivery model.   The voluntary, private and charity often remain autonomous in their operations due to the nature of their services which are often locality based and do not always require the same level of input from the NHS structures  as the Trusts.  By recognising the structures that these providers exist within and their mechanisms for sourcing and  delivering training it is expected that a closer relationship will be developed between the educational and training providers to ensure current demands are met and that future relationships are maintained. In summary, this project is designed to address the training needs of voluntary, private and charity based health providers.   This will lead to the creation of demand led professional development training and will also establish processes and practices that can be used to engage more effectively with these providers to ensure an ongoing relationship is maintained with education and training providers.
