UCAS Extra opens today! Students, who have not secured an offer from their first UCAS application, can now apply again for higher education courses which may still have vacancies.

Crocodile Joe and his collection of exotic snakes made a guest appearance at Tameside College during a GMSA Pathways road show, to help BTEC students find a pathway through the higher education information ‘jungle’.

Emily Cameron, a 17 year old BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design student from Bury College, praised the concept of a localised course search site: “There are cost implications for travelling a long way to university so I’m keen to study locally and want to survey all my options.

BTEC students in Greater Manchester are using GMSA Pathways on an unprecedented scale. Within one month of the October 6th launch, more than 1,500 searches for higher education courses in Greater Manchester were made.
