What is GMSA Advance

GMSA Advance provides a catalogue of short, business-focused, higher education courses from providers throughout Greater Manchester.
Every GMSA Advance module is free-standing and carries credits that can be banked and accumulated towards larger awards - such as Honours, Foundation or Masters degrees. Modules from different universities and colleges can be combined within a single qualification.
The initiative utilises a range of alternative delivery methods alongside the standard academic route, including online, distance or work-based learning.

Developing personlised learning opportunities for employers

Phil Margham, director of Learning Innovation to Liverpool John Moores University and consultant advising on GMSA Advance, has written an article for the Sussex Learning Network e-book, entitled Developing Personlised Learning Opportunities for Employers.
The article details the way in which the GMSA works with employers, with GMSA providers, challenges with rules and structures, and the development of IT processes.
