Lifelong Learning Network

Projects GroupIn February 2006, the GMSA received funding to run the Greater Manchester Lifelong Learning Network. The overall objective for an LLN is to improve the coherence, clarity and certainty of progression opportunities for vocational learners into and through higher education. The GMSA is seeking to work with employers to create higher education that is relevant and accessible to learners in the workplace. LLN funding was granted by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

Seminar report on progression agreements and accords

In May 2008, HEFCE produced a report to follow the LLN Progression Agreement Symposium of October 2007. The report, with an article highlighting the GMSA's practice, is available to download, right.

In April 2008, HEFCE published the Interim Evaluation of Lifelong Learning Networks

In April 2008, a draft version of the external evaluation of the GMSA and its delivery of the Lifelong Learning Network project

This evaluation was independent and seperate from the HEFCE evaluation. It is also available to download, right. 

A DIUS consultation paper has also been released, to build stronger and more flexible links between higher education and business.
