The Champions are individuals from the GMSA's twenty-eight member institutions that work as a bridge between the GMSA and their home institution. They act as ambassadors for the GMSA and as a central conduit for GMSA developments which will benefit learners, employers, and their own organisations, as well as informing the GMSA about developments within their own institutions and the challenges that they face. The Champions are funded by the GMSA on an annual basis.
To support the Champions, the GMSA organises meetings every six weeks, which are held in various member institutions across Greater Manchester. These GMSA forums allow Champions to interact with Sector Development Group leads, to learn about GMSA policy and new developments, and to share good practice and news from their institution. As well as the GMSA forum, there is also a overnight event held yearly, which encourages greater team-building and problem solving, allowing the partnership to grow and mature. Some Champions hold dual posts as Sector Development Group leads, while others attend GMSA Management board, GMSA Council, GMSA Special Interest Groups, Sector Development Group meetings, and act as lead investigators for GMSA Special Projects.
The Champions are made up of senior level managers within their own institutions, with experience in widening participation and providing higher education opportunities to a range of learner constituencies.
Please log-in to the members' area for detailed information on the Champions' role and news of upcoming events.
