Greater Manchester’s higher and further education community joined for two days to explore the success of the GMSA and look at possible new horizons. At the end of the fourth annual development event, 94% of delegates said they had a better understanding of the GMSA’s success so far.

GMSA Advance – the groundbreaking initiative allowing working adults to build bespoke degrees – is being piloted now. More than 50 working adults from 20 employers have so far taken the opportunity to start earning and accumulating university credits through the scheme.
Representatives from higher and further education institutions throughout Greater Manchester, as well as a number of strategic partners, will gather for two days in February to stimulate debate about how the GMSA might look in the future.
The opportunities for BTEC students - offered by GMSA Pathways - have caught the attention of local media. The Manchester Evening News was the first newspaper to break the story and a number of regional newspapers have announced the service to local readers.
