The Greater Manchester Strategic Alliance (GMSA) is an alliance of universities, colleges, work-based learning providers and other stakeholders, whose collaboration is making higher education in Greater Manchester increasingly innovative and employer-led.
The GMSA, which runs the Greater Manchester Lifelong Learning Network, promotes the progression of vocational learners and 14-19 diploma students into employer-led, flexible, higher education.

GMSA Advance has been shortlisted for a prestigious Times Higher Education Awards 2009 for its achievements in making further and higher education more accessible.
Members of the Greater Manchester Strategic Alliance (GMSA) Council have voted unanimously to continue to support the GMSA into 2010 and beyond.
